Revealing two "huge" upgrades of iPhone 18, users are looking forward to it

iPhone 18 promises to bring remarkable upgrades in processor chip and screen for users.

After conflicting information about the A20 chip on the iPhone 18 series, analyst Jeff Pu recently gave an important update, revealing the possibility of a significant performance upgrade for the next generation of iPhone. At the same time, a new patent also shows that Apple is working to improve the durability of the iPhone screen, bringing a more perfect user experience.

iPhone 18 will likely get major upgrades in chip and screen.

iPhone 18 will likely get major upgrades in chip and screen.

According to initial reports, the A20 chip was said to only bring modest performance improvements compared to the A19. However, Jeff Pu has corrected the information, affirming that the A20 chip can be manufactured on the advanced 2nm process. If this becomes true, the iPhone 18 will possess outstanding performance, becoming a worthy upgrade option for users.

In addition to the chip upgrade, Apple is also working on new screen protection technology, revealed in a recent patent. This technology combines glass with other components to create a scratch-resistant coating, reduce reflections and prevent "ghosting" over time.

The coating is made up of multiple layers of materials, including a hard, scratch-resistant coating and an “interference” layer that reduces light reflection. Apple’s goal is to increase the durability of the display without adding thickness or weight to the device.

However, this technology is still quite new as the patent was only filed in September 2024. Therefore, the possibility of the iPhone 16 being equipped with this technology is very low. Users may have to wait until the iPhone 17 or 18 series to experience it.

The latest information shows that Apple is constantly improving the iPhone, both in performance and durability, promising to bring breakthrough products in the future.
